BIM4WB Project Officially Launched to Advance Digital Competences in Construction

We are pleased to announce the official launch of the BIM4WB Project, funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme. The project aims to strengthen Building Information Modeling education and support the digital transformation of the construction and architecture sectors in Albania and Kosovo.

The construction industry plays a central role in economic development across the Western Balkans. However, the sector continues to face important challenges, including skills gaps, quality assurance concerns, limited use of digital tools, and the need for stronger alignment with European standards in sustainability, safety, and efficiency.

Building Information Modeling offers a strategic response to these challenges. By integrating digital design, data management, collaboration, and lifecycle-based planning, BIM enables more efficient project delivery, improved decision-making, reduced errors, and better compliance with environmental and safety requirements.

Through the BIM4WB Project, the consortium will develop specialised curricula, training materials, and capacity-building activities designed to equip students, teachers, and professionals with the competences required by a modern and increasingly digital construction sector. The project will also contribute to stronger cooperation between education providers, vocational institutions, industry representatives, and innovation actors.

The project is coordinated by Consellería de Cultura, Educación, Formación Profesional e Universidades, in partnership with Balıkesir University, Universiteti Europian i Tiranës, the UET Office for Projects and Internationalization, Protik Innovation Center, Kolegji Universum, and the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education of Kosovo.
